Ieremiah 29

1 Jeremiah sendeth a letter to the captives in Babylon, to be quiet there, 8 and not to believe the dreams of their prophets, 10 and that they shall return with grace after seventy years. 15 He foretelleth the destruction of the rest for their disobedience. 20 He sheweth the fearful end of Ahab and Zedekiah, two lying prophets. 24 Shemaiah writeth a letter against Jeremiah. 30 Jeremiah readeth his doom.

 29:1 ¶ Now these x428 [are] the words 1697 of the letter, 5612 that x834 Ieremiah 3414 the prophet 5030 sent 7971 z8804 from Ierusalem 3389 x4480 vnto x413 the residue 3499 of the elders 2205 which were caried away captiues, 1473 and to x413 the priests, 3548 and to x413 the prophets, 5030 and to x413 all x3605 the people 5971 whom x834 Nebuchad-nezzar 5019 had caried away captiue 1540 z8689 from Ierusalem 3389 x4480 to Babylon, 894

 29:2 (After y310 that x310 Ieconiah 3204 the king, 4428 and the queene, 1377 and the eunuches, 5631 the princes 8269 of Iudah 3063 and Ierusalem, 3389 and the carpenters 2796 and the smithes 4525 were departed 3318 z8800 from Ierusalem) 3389 x4480

 29:3 By the hand 3027 of Elasah 501 the sonne 1121 of Shaphan, 8227 and Gemariah 1587 the sonne 1121 of Hilkiah, 2518 whome x834 Zedekiah 6667 king 4428 of Iudah 3063 sent 7971 z8804 vnto Babylon 894 to x413 Nebuchad-nezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon, 894 saying, 559 z8800

 29:4 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 the God 430 of Israel 3478 vnto all x3605 that are caried away captiues, 1473 whom x834 I haue caused to be caried away 1540 z8689 from Ierusalem 3389 x4480 vnto Babylon: 894

 29:5 Build 1129 z8798 ye houses 1004 and dwell 3427 z8798 [in them], and plant 5193 z8798 gardens, 1593 and eate 398 z8798 x853 the fruit 6529 of them.

 29:6 Take 3947 z8798 ye wiues, 802 and beget 3205 z8685 sonnes 1121 and daughters, 1323 and take 3947 z8798 wiues 802 for your sonnes, 1121 and giue 5414 z8798 your daughters 1323 to husbands, y582 x376 that they may beare 3205 z8799 sonnes 1121 and daughters, y1121 x1323 that ye may bee increased 7235 z8798 there, x8033 and not x408 diminished. 4591 z8799

 29:7 And seeke 1875 z8798 x853 the peace 7965 of the citie, 5892 whither x834 x8033 I haue caused you to be caried away captiues, 1540 z8689 & pray 6419 z8690 vnto x413 the LORD 3068 for x1157 it: for x3588 in the peace 7965 thereof shall yee haue x1961 peace. 7965

 29:8 ¶ For x3588 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 the God 430 of Israel, 3478 Let not x408 your prophets 5030 and your diuiners, 7080 z8802 that x834 [bee] in the midst 7130 of you, deceiue 5377 z8686 you, neither x408 hearken 8085 z8799 to x413 your dreames 2472 which x834 yee x859 cause to be dreamed. 2492 z8688

 29:9 For x3588 they x1992 prophecie 5012 z8737 falsly 8267 vnto you in my name: 8034 I haue not x3808 sent 7971 z8804 them, saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 29:10 ¶ For x3588 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 That x3588 after 6310 seuentie 7657 yeeres 8141 be accomplished 4390 z8800 at Babylon, 894 I will visite 6485 z8799 you, and performe 6965 z8689 x853 my good 2896 word 1697 towards x5921 you, in causing you to returne 7725 z8687 x853 to x413 this x2088 place. 4725

 29:11 For x3588 I x595 knowe 3045 z8804 x853 the thoughts 4284 that x834 I x595 thinke 2803 z8802 towards x5921 you, saith 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 thoughts 4284 of peace, 7965 and not x3808 of euill, 7451 to giue 5414 z8800 you an expected 8615 end. 319

 29:12 Then shall ye call y7121 z8804 vpon x7121 me, and ye shall goe 1980 z8804 and pray 6419 z8694 vnto x413 mee, and I will hearken 8085 z8804 vnto x413 you.

 29:13 And ye shall seeke 1245 z8765 me, and finde 4672 z8804 [me], when x3588 ye shall search y1875 z8799 for x1875 me with all x3605 your heart. 3824

 29:14 And I will be found 4672 z8738 of you, saith 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 and I will turne away 7725 z8804 x853 your captiuitie, 7622 z8675 and I will gather 6908 z8765 you from all x4480 x3605 the nations, 1471 and from all x4480 x3605 the places 4725 whither x834 x8033 I haue driuen 5080 z8689 you, saith 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 and I will bring you againe 7725 z8689 x853 into x413 the place 4725 whence x834 x4480 x8033 I caused you to be caried away captiue. 1540 z8689

 29:15 ¶ Because x3588 yee haue said, 559 z8804 The LORD 3068 hath raised vs vp 6965 z8689 prophets 5030 in Babylon: 894

 29:16 [Know] that x3588 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 of x413 the king 4428 that sitteth 3427 z8802 vpon x413 the throne 3678 of Dauid, 1732 and of x413 all x3605 the people 5971 that dwelleth 3427 z8802 in this x2063 citie, 5892 and of your brethren 251 that x834 are not x3808 gone foorth 3318 z8804 with x854 you into captiuitie. 1473

 29:17 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 Beholde, x2009 I will send 7971 z8764 vpon them x853 the sword, 2719 x853 the famine, 7458 and the pestilence, 1698 and will make 5414 z8804 them like vile 8182 figges, 8384 that x834 cannot x3808 be eaten, 398 z8735 they are so euill. 7455 x4480

 29:18 And I will persecute 7291 z8804 x310 them y310 with the sword, 2719 with the famine, 7458 and with the pestilence, 1698 and will deliuer 5414 z8804 them to be remooued 2189 z8675 y2113 to all x3605 the kingdomes 4467 of the earth, 776 to be a curse 423 and an astonishment, 8047 and an hissing, 8322 and a reproch 2781 among all x3605 the nations, 1471 whither x834 x8033 I haue driuen 5080 z8689 them.

 29:19 Because x8478 x834 they haue not x3808 hearkened 8085 z8804 to x413 my words, 1697 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 which x834 I sent 7971 z8804 vnto x413 them by x853 my seruants 5650 the Prophets, 5030 rising vp early, 7925 z8687 and sending 7971 z8800 [them], but ye would not x3808 heare, 8085 z8804 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 29:20 ¶ Heare 8085 z8798 yee x859 therefore the word 1697 of the LORD, 3068 all x3605 ye of the captiuitie, 1473 whom x834 I haue sent 7971 z8765 from Ierusalem 3389 x4480 to Babylon. 894

 29:21 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 the God 430 of Israel, 3478 of x413 Ahab 256 the sonne 1121 of Kolaiah, 6964 and of x413 Zedekiah 6667 the sonne 1121 of Maaseiah, 4641 which prophecie 5012 z8737 a lye 8267 vnto you in my Name, 8034 Behold, x2009 I will deliuer 5414 z8802 them into the hand 3027 of Nebuchadrezzar 5019 king 4428 of Babylon, 894 and hee shall slay 5221 z8689 them before your eyes. 5869

 29:22 And of x4480 them shall bee taken vp 3947 z8795 a eurse 7045 by all x3605 the captiuitie 1546 of Iudah 3063 which x834 [are] in Babylon, 894 saying, 559 z8800 The LORD 3068 make 7760 z8799 thee like Zedekiah, 6667 and like Ahab, 256 whom x834 the king 4428 of Babylon 894 rosted 7033 z8804 in the fire. 784

 29:23 Because x3282 x834 they haue committed 6213 z8804 villanie 5039 in Israel, 3478 and haue committed y6213 z8804 adulterie 5003 z8762 with x854 their neighbors 7453 wiues, 802 and haue spoken 1696 z8762 lying 8267 wordes 1697 in my Name, 8034 which x834 I haue not x3808 commanded 6680 z8765 them, euen I x595 know, 3045 z8802 and [am] a witnesse, 5707 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 29:24 ¶ Thus shalt thou also speake 559 z8799 to x413 Shemaiah 8098 the Nehelamite, 5161 saying: 559 z8800

 29:25 Thus x3541 speaketh 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hostes 6635 the God 430 of Israel, 3478 saying, 559 z8800 Because x3282 x834 thou x859 hast sent 7971 z8804 letters 5612 in thy name 8034 vnto x413 all x3605 the people 5971 that x834 [are] at Ierusalem, 3389 and to x413 Zephaniah 6846 the sonne 1121 of Maaseiah 4641 the Priest, 3548 and to x413 all x3605 the priests, 3548 saying; 559 z8800

 29:26 The LORD 3068 hath made 5414 z8804 thee Priest 3548 in the stead of x8478 Iehoiada 3077 the Priest, 3548 that ye should be x1961 Officers 6496 in the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 for euery x3605 man 376 that is madde, 7696 z8794 and maketh himselfe a Prophet, 5012 z8693 that thou shouldest put 5414 z8804 him in x413 prison, 4115 and in x413 the stockes: 6729

 29:27 Now x6258 therefore why x4100 hast thou not x3808 reproued 1605 z8804 Ieremiah 3414 of Anathoth, 6069 which maketh himselfe a Prophet 5012 z8693 to you?

 29:28 For x3588 therefore x5921 x3651 he sent 7971 z8804 vnto x413 vs in Babylon, 894 saying, 559 z8800 This 1931 [captiuitie is] long, 752 build 1129 z8798 ye houses 1004 and dwell 3427 z8798 [in them], and plant 5193 z8798 gardens, 1593 and eate 398 z8798 x853 the fruit 6529 of them.

 29:29 And Zephaniah 6846 the Priest 3548 read 7121 z8799 x853 this x2088 letter 5612 in the eares 241 of Ieremiah 3414 the Prophet. 5030

 29:30 ¶ Then came x1961 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 vnto x413 Ieremiah, 3414 saying; 559 z8800

 29:31 Send 7971 z8798 to x5921 all x3605 them of the captiuitie, 1473 saying, 559 z8800 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 concerning x413 Shemaiah 8098 the Nehelamite, 5161 Because x3283 x834 that Shemaiah 8098 hath prophecied 5012 z8738 vnto you, and I x589 sent 7971 z8804 him not, x3808 and he caused you to trust 982 z8686 x853 in x5921 a lye. 8267

 29:32 Therefore x3651 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 Behold, x2009 I will punish 6485 z8802 x5921 Shemaiah 8098 the Nehelamite 5161 and his seed: 2233 he shall not x3808 haue x1961 a man 376 to dwell 3427 z8802 among 8432 this x2088 people, 5971 neither x3808 shall hee behold 7200 z8799 the good 2896 that x834 I x589 will doe 6213 z8802 for my people, 5971 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD, 3068 because x3588 he hath taught 1696 z8765 rebellion 5627 against x5921 the LORD. 3068
